Local School Boards - Authority to Impose a Property Tax


Authorizing county boards of education to impose, by resolution, a property tax to provide funding for public school operation and expenses; providing that the property tax is in addition to the county property tax; providing for the collection and administration of the property tax; requiring the property tax rate to be set by specified county boards at a specified level; requiring specified counties to reduce their property tax rates by a specified amount for specified fiscal years; etc.
