Health Insurance - Payment and Fee Disclosure

Synopsis:

Requiring health insurance carriers to establish and implement a procedure for providing to an enrollee or a health care provider on behalf of an enrollee an estimate of specified payments for covered services; requiring the estimate to include specified payments and terms; requiring a carrier that uses a provider panel to provide an estimate of specified amounts, if a specified health care provider does not participate in the provider panel; requiring a carrier to provide on its website a specified explanation; etc.
